New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Receives 5 Minutes of Footage In New Trailer

Nearly five minutes of jumping, dashing, stomping, and power-up... ing.

In anticipation of the imminent launch of the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (boy, that’s a mouthful) for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Japan have released a meaty introduction trailer for the game. There’s a good chance that you may not need an introduction to it, but if you’re thinking of purchasing the game, it’s still worth a view, because it’s essentially nearly five minutes of gameplay footage, showcasing all the side-scrolling platforming action that is commonly associated with New Super Mario Bros.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is, of course, an enhanced port of the Wii U game for the Switch. On top of the base game itself, it also comes packaged with Wii U’s New Super Luigi U, and plenty of other additional features. That includes the likes of Nabbit and Toadette as playable characters, over 150 stages, and single Joycon support (and improved visuals, obviously).

For those who didn’t play the original game when it launched on the Wii U, it presents a good opportunity to dive into some good old vanilla 2D Mario fun. For those who did, perhaps the additional features might warrant a purchase. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe launches on January 11- but you can pre-load it right away, if you want.
