Ni no Kuni 2 Developer Discusses New Features In The Game, Plans On Working On Nintendo Switch

But they won't have any title available at launch.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is one of the most eagerly anticipated upcoming PlayStation 4 games- the original title was flawed, but beloved by a generation that had been starved for high quality console JRPGs, and a sequel on the PS4 that potentially fixes all the issues the first game had is too alluring a prospect for some.

In a recent interview with Vandal (via DualShockers), Ni no Kuni 2 developer Level 5’s EO Akihiro Hino discussed the upcoming game, still in development, commenting on the new features that would be possible as a result of the move to PS4.

“There will be many new features. From the fact alone that we moved from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, it will not be a simple RPG, and will introduce a new system focused on creating a kingdom. So yes, there will be many differences,” he said.

He also sounded off on Nintendo’s upcoming machine, the Switch, expressing enthusiasm for it, and stating that Level 5 plans on working on a game for it some time in the future.

“We plan to make games for Nintendo Switch, but I think it’s very important to find out the best way to get the most out of the console. For that reason, we won’t have any titles at launch, but we’ll work with it as soon as we figure out how to take advantage of it.”

Level 5 have, of course, been ardent supporters of Nintendo’s machines- from Professor Layton on Nintendo DS to Yokai Watch on Nintendo 3DS. So them supporting Nintendo’s new portable shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anybody.
