There is blood and dismemberment, chunks of flesh, decapitated arms, legs, torsos and heads flying around. It can be turned off though. Just if anyone is wondering when reading this article.

Sorry I mean to say as I am playing NGS2+ There is actual blood not purple mist, with a gore function that can be turned off and on.
