Long before there was a Nioh and Nioh 2, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja defined the action game genre with Ninja Gaiden. The series was an action take remake of the classic platformer series, and had two acclaimed titles, with a third that then fumbled. Team Ninja has teased the return of the series in the past, and if a new listing is any indication, it could be coming early next year.
A listing on a Hong Kong retailer popped up for the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. Despite using the logo for the older SNES title of the same name, the description lists the newer titles, specifically Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. If you’re unfamiliar, these were all re-releases. Some are not fond of the Sigma versions due to some major altercations they made from the base titles, but they are the newest version of all three titles. Interestingly, the listings are only for PS4 and Switch, and have since been deleted. You can still see the cache version of it however as pointed out by Reddit user riap0526 through here.
While the series has not seen an official release in years, the games are playable on the Xbox One through backwards compatibility (although the first two games are different versions than the Sigma releases). If these listings end up being accurate, it shouldn’t be too long before we hear something about them.
