Nintendo’s presence at E3 this year may be extremely diminished (which is even worse in context of the fact that they have a new console launching less than a year from now), but the company still plans on making the best of the hand it has dealt itself. Today, Nintendo confirmed their final plans for E3, which include, as expected, a worldwide premier of The Legend of Zelda, as well as live streams of Pokemon Sun and Moon, Dragon Quest VII, and Monster Hunter Generations, among other games.
Nintendo will also be holding an Anniversary sale on the eShop, in honor of its fifth birthday. Starting at 11 a.m. PT, and through to 8:59 a.m. PT on June 21, Nintendo will be offering discounts on some of its most popular games, which is a good change from their stance of otherwise barely, if ever, reducing pices for their software. My Nintendo members who are signed in will also get a special bonus if they buy select games included in the sale. To get the extra discount, My Nintendo members must link their Nintendo Account to their Nintendo Network ID and access Nintendo eShop on their device at least once before they make a purchase.
Finally, Nintendo also shared a new piece of artwork for The Legend of Zelda– which you can see for yourself below. The game’s sense of art and style remains striking as always, and though I am still pretty mad at Nintendo for how they went about E3 this year, I can’t help but be excited to finally see the long awaited new Zelda game in action next week.
