Nintendo have announced a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation for July 20, 7 AM Pacific Time, as a recent leak had claimed they would. The presentation will be first in a new series of Directs that Nintendo have dubbed “Partner Showcase”, which will be focused on games from third parties coming to the Nintendo Switch. A tweet from Nintendo states that the upcoming presentation will “share a few updates on a small group of previously-announced Nintendo Switch games.”
The Nintendo Switch’s lineup for the remainder of 2020 is looking a little lean right now, with Bravely Default 2 and No More Heroes 3 being among the only major releases scheduled for the console in the coming months. Updates on those two remains likely, but it remains to be seen what else will be shown, especially with the focus of the broadcast being on previously announced games.
2020 has seen no full Direct presentations so far, which is a first for Nintendo in any years. Though there have been presentations for specific games (as well as a Direct Mini not too long ago), COVID-19 put hold on many of Nintendo’s plans for the year as far as Direct presentations are concerned.
Recently, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said that the Japanese company was looking into ways to share updates and announcements for coming plans.
Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated on all updates coming from the upcoming Nintendo Direct Mini and beyond.
