So nearly half of all Twitter conversation in this period was Nintendo related, with Sony and Microsoft fighting for the other half. Sony came out on top in this contest, with 27% of the tweets, while Xbox brought up the rear with 25% of the tweets. http://merky.de/805fcc

<i>"The system is almost certainly still doomed to last place, but maybe it will manage to pull through and post at least Gamecube level sales numbers after all."</i>

Nah. I'm sticking with my prediction of Sony in first, Nintendo a distant second, and Microsoft bombing. Microsoft sabotaged themselves out of the gate this generation with the double PR disasters that were the XBone announcement and follow-up e3. They basically handed Sony a huge boost in momentum and Microsoft has been on the defensive since then. Stripping the Kinect from the XBone is a sign of weakness, not strength, and I don't think that the price drop will give them an edge over the more powerful and still competitively priced Playstation 4. I'm also not sold on the selling power of a Bungie-less Halo, not with Destiny going multiplatform. Crowds may cheer for Halo re-releases...but old content doesn't sell mountains of new systems, new content does and after Halo 4...I'm not alone in having little interest in Halo 5. Which is a shame since up until then I was a big fan of the series.
