Nintendo Has 11 Unannounced Games Lined Up For Switch This Year – Report

Announce the Nintendo Direct already, for crying out loud.

While 2018 was a slower year for the Switch, 2019 seems better stacked. We already got Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and we have Yoshi’s Crafted World, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Daemon X Machina, Pokemon 8, and Animal Crossing all announced for the Switch for this year already. And in addition to that all, there may be 11 more unannounced Switch games in the works from Nintendo.

This news comes to us from well known Nintendo insider and reporter Emily Rogers, who has previously correctly leaked many things about the company (including almost everything about the Switch itself before it was officially revealed). Speaking on ResetEra, Rogers said that Nintendo has 11 unannounced Switch games in the works. Of these, based on her speculation (so not necessarily inside knowledge as far as this breakdown goes), two are apparently eShop exclusive games (so likely smaller scale games), two are Wii U ports, one is a Nintendo Labo kit, while the remaining six are new, unannounced, retail Nintendo Switch games.

What could they be? Rogers speculates that they could be Metroid Prime Trilogy (which has been rumored) as well as Retro Studios’ secret project (rumored to be Star Fox Racing, of all things), but it’s hard to tell anyway. Nintendo themselves have stated that they have at least one unannounced new Switch game lined up release before March 2020, so there is that too.

That said, if Nintendo has a lineup even half that stacked planned for this year, I think they will find it far easier to hit a forecast like 20 million units this year than they did last year.
