Nintendo Hiring Level Designer for The Legend of Zelda

Work on the next Zelda has already begun?

It sounds like development on a brand new Legend of Zelda game may already have begun. Nintendo has apparently begun hiring for a level designer for the Legend of Zelda franchise- based on a rough translation of the job listing (which is in Japanese), the candidate needs to be responsible for “creating game events, dungeons, field planning, and making adjustments as necessary”.

Given the legendary prestige of the Zelda franchise, as well as the rave acclaim installments in it often get- last year’s Breath of the Wild is frequently touted as the greatest game ever made- a job here would be something that many game developers would kill to have, I am sure. Given that job security at Nintendo is extremely stable (very low turnover rates), you’d be set for life if you got this job.

Work on Breath of the Wild, as well as both of its expansions, has already concluded, so presumably this indicates work on a new title in the series has begun- whether for a new 2D style game, or a big budget follow up to Breath of the Wild.
