Thank you so much for putting this excellent article together. I keep up on my Nintendo news, and I still learned some new things here. There may be a lot of speculation, but it all seems fairly sound. The gaming world needs more writers like you!

You might be surprised if in the future, the "true" Home/Handheld Console (hybrid? ecosystem?) solution is created by Sony. I mean, seriously, recently many devs announcing their game will be available exclusive to PS4/PS3/PSV combo or PS4/PSV combo. I see a pattern here. From Dragon Quest (Heroes 2, Builders) to God Eater to Digimon and more.. Each game sharing one code base, not for graphical assets though.

Some notes:

1.) Ready at Dawn's mention of a project for a then-unannounced platform is likely to be the one announced several days later as an Oculus Rift exclusive.

2.) Even though I agree Nintendo is likely to make this mistake, their first party games <i>still</i> being seperate purchases/versions between handheld and console would be one of the worst things they could do. What people want is either to need just a singular Nintendo device on which they have access to the full Nintendo library for that generation (and every preceeding one), or to have full cross buy between handheld and console so they can buy any game only once and then play it wherever they want.

Anything less than that will be seen as just another behind the times product; completely undesirable, dare I say even unacceptable in a post-smart device world.

3.) NX "absorbing the Wii U architecture" is more likely to mean easing the transition of dev tools between the two platforms, so their developers won't have to once again start from scratch, and may even be able to port Wii U titles relatively quickly - given how most of the market missed out on it, they might as well be completely new titles.

Zelda U > NX is indeed a given, and a "Complete Edition" of SSB4 seems quite inevitable with all the DLC it's been getting. Splatoon would also be another obvious candidate after building up a year's worth or so of DLC (and amiibo-locked content), essentially making the initial Wii U version an Early Access-style release. Bayonetta 1 & 2 (finally in 1080p60) would be smart choices as well, to reel in the hardcore gamer that wasn't able to be convinced by the Wii U just yet.

4.) <i>"The thing here is, no console can ever be too expensive- the PS3 and Xbox One launches are proof of that. No handheld can ever be too expensive either- the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS are proof of that. Especially, no Nintendo console can be too expensive."</i>

This is just blatantly false; all of those had abysmal launches - especially compared to their predecessors - and only the PS3 and 3DS were able to somewhat recover from their initial mistakes after some substantial pricecutting (and Europe's stubborn refusal to consider consoles without the Playstation brand on them).

200 bucks will be the absolute maximum they can get away with charging for either a Nintendo handheld or console.

So I've read the article and can some correct me if I'm wrong, but I have questions about the NX.

1. Will the Eshop have the same games as the Wii U eshop?

2. Will the system support Wii and Wii U games?

3. Will it come with a gamepad like the Wii U or have support for the Wii u gamepad?

4. Will it support any Wii / Wii U controllers? (Wii U Pro Controller, Wiimote and Nunchuk, etc?)

5. Wii it still have online support for existing games like Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros 4, etc?

These are my questions. If someone can answer them, It would be helpful, thanks :).
