With Nintendo’s announced release date of March 2017 for the Nintendo NX hurtling close, and there being no official announcement of any kind of the system, there are those of us who have started to wonder whether Nintendo really does intend to have the system out when they say they will- is it not possible that they are looking at delaying it into holiday season next year, which is a far more sensible window for a new console launch anyway?
However, speaking at their 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (translated by Cheesemeister, and collated by Nintendo Everything), Nintendo confirmed a March 2017 launch for the system again, confirming that manufacturing for the system is being prepped, and that they are currently considering how much of the process they should aotumate. For those who fear that, given Nintendo’s other recent initiatives, like mobile games, theme parks, Amiibos, movies, TV shows, and such, their priorities may shift, Nintendo also reconfirmed that their console gaming business will continue to be their core priority.
Assuming all of this is true, and not just Nintendo sticking to the party line for now, then they are really running out of time to properly introduce and reveal the NX to the world ahead of its March 2017 launch.
