Nintendo NX ‘Portable’ To Launch This Year, ‘Console Partner Device’ In 2017 – Analyst

The portable will cost about the same as the Vita or the 3DS when they first hit the market.

There are all kinds of rumors floating around out there about just what the Nintendo NX is going to be able to offer and while some of them don’t seem all that believable, others seem bit more likely. One of those rumors that isn’t quite that believable is that the console is going to be able to work somehow with the PS4 and PC at the very least. NintendoLife found one report that seems to indicate there is at least a chance the console partner device is going to launch in November 2017.

The same report that claimed there is going to be the ability for the NX to work with other gaming devices also claimed that before the full console comes out, Nintendo will be launching a portable version this year. This portable version will supposedly be priced at $200 which will be in line with what we saw from other mobile gaming devices when they first hit the market. The console partner device will then be launching about a year later according to the report, put together by industry analyst Macquarie Capital Securities in Japan.

The industry analyst believes, thanks to a number of patent filings, that the device is going to have AR capabilities but other wise could be something that will eventually be able to kind of team up with the larger console. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard talk about the NX being both a portable and a console. Now we just have to wait and see which rumors are true and which aren’t.
