A new report claims that Nintendo is getting set to not unveil but also release to the market, it’s new console than anybody could have expected. This report claims the NX will be available for purchase as early as July of 2016. Digitimes is the site making these claims and provides quite a bit of information to back those claims up.
Sources that are familiar with the situation have told the site that Nintendo that part orders are expected to be completed by March of next year and that mass production will go into effect in May or June. The company will then begin shipping units at the end of July. The incredibly short production time is just one of the reasons anyone who is excited to get their hands on NX should take this report with about 2,000 grains of salt. Part of the reason these rumors seem hard to believe is that most people haven’t even had time to get excited for the Nintendo NX.
Nintendo confirmed that they were working on a new console back in March but hasn’t given many details since then. The firm didn’t show off the console, or really share any new details last month at E3 either. It seems if the company was getting ready to shop their supposed replacement to the Wii U, they would be starting to drum up support by at least showing people concept art.
Of course, it wouldn’t be unheard of to give less than a year’s lead time from unveiling to shipping. Sony and Microsoft both unveiled the PS4 and Xbox One in the early summer of 2013 and released them in the fall of the same year. If Nintendo is following suit and is indeed going to ship the NX by July, it seems conceivable the company could wait until November or December to officially show it off.
