Nintendo NX Trial Production Begins, 10 Million Units Expected Annually- Report

It doesn't seem like there will be any more delays now, if this report holds true.

It looks like there will not be any more delays on the Nintendo NX, and that it will hit its previously announced release date of March 2017 worldwide after all. It also seems like Nintendo expect it to sell in pretty appreciable quantities- according to a report by DigiTimes, Chinese manufacturer Foxconn have begun trial production on the Nintendo NX.

The report also states that annual production of the NX is estimated to be around 10 million units a year (which, assuming shorter inventory lead times, indicates the amount that Nintendo hopes to sell of the NX per year). Apart from Foxconn, Japan-based Misumi Electronics and Hosiden are also apparently manufacturing the upcoming system.

The Nintendo NX is widely expected to be a hybrid system, functioning as a portable and a home console, and acting as the successor to the 3DS and Wii U, consolidating Nintendo’s games to one platform. It is expected to be announced next month, with a release date currently pegged for March 2017.
