While we still don’t know a lot about just what Nintendo is bringing to the table when it comes to the NX, the company is starting to talk a little bit about what it’s planning. The company actually let a bit of information hit the web while they were talking about the delayed launch of their first mobile games. While that doesn’t exactly fill one with a ton of confidence, legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto said a few words that should make people at least breath a bit easier when it comes to the NX.
The Wall Street Journal was covering the unveiling of the company’s mobile plan when it did catch just a little bit about the plans of for its new console. Miyamoto said Nintendo intends to do more with this console, which also appears to be an admission they’ve made some mistakes in the recent past. “We are going to be far more aggressive in using our IP, and not just stop with licensing, as in the past. The first example is Amiibo. We want our IP to better reach more children, and smart devices is just one vehicle.”
If Nintendo is able to get its IP out to more people, it will need some help from other companies. Recent reports show EA is looking at supporting the Nintendo NX and that could only be good news for those wanting the upcoming console to succeed.
