Nintendo: Response to Wii U has been Phenomenal

"Pricing's in a good spot and proof is in the consumer response."

It seems Nintendo is satisfied with the Wii U pricing as they have mentioned that the response to the console has been phenomenal with the Deluxe Edition – priced at $350 – selling out.

The Wii U is available in two models with $300 model containing Nintendoland as well. It’s the basic model and it seems people are willing to pay more for the Deluxe one, and this could be termed as positive since the Vita 3G model faced very poor demand.

“All I can say is that the response has been phenomenal,” Nintendo’s Scott Mofitt told GamesIndustry International.

“On opening week we will have more systems on hand for the Wii U than we did for the launch of Wii. Our replenishments will be more frequent this holiday time than during the Wii launch.”

“It’s impossible to exactly predict demand, and so I can’t say that we won’t have some shortages out there and that people won’t have to be a little patient.”

There could be shortages as the Wii was sold out for many months after its launch.
