If you knew me, you would know that I grew up with Nintendo rather than Lego, so I’m just going to gush here for a bit. Nintendo have announced the “New Nintendo 3DS”, the planned successor to the regular and XL versions of the massively well received handheld.
So what does that mean? Evidently, it means a lot because this little thing sounds awesome. I may already own a 3DS but it’s getting replaced by the new model as soon as possible. The “New 3DS” will launch in white and black. Expect custom schemes soon though, it’s still Nintendo after all. New face buttons. Gone are the hard edged buttons, replaced with nice rounded edges. (seriously though, rounded edges should be an industry standard). These new face buttons are designed to resemble the Super Famicom colour scheme. No, not the horrible grey on purple colour scheme, the blue, green, red and yellow scheme.
The improved CPU also increases the potential of games with higher graphical fidelity, Xenoblade Chronicles is already coming exclusively to the New 3DS. The handheld will feature an NFC reader to enable Amiibo functionality.
Long story short, stop reading this and start saving your pennies.
