We're not talking software though. This is hardware. True enough, I suppose game sales will matter in the long run but so far I don't see anything spectacular from Nintendo and by their current trend of making rehash after rehash of their own ip's I doubt I will see anything revolutionary from them at all in the near future.

Sorry Nintendo, the Wii U just plain sucks and has very little going for it. No DVD or Blu Ray playback? I mean come on I can't even use it as a media hub. It's also limited in potential thanks to the tablet controller which isn't very revolutionary in the grand scheme of things and this only made the console more expensive than it had to be. Makes sense in games like ZombiU where you add realism with distraction but I can't really see it anywhere other than party games. Lightning didn't strike twice this time it seems. Other consoles like the PS4 on the other hand know what they are doing at the moment. The console didn't shove the tablet controller down my throat and instead may add similar functionality as an option in the near future with the PS Vita or other device. In any case, the extra screen in the controller is completely unnecessary in my opinion and not every game can utilize it to significantly enhance the gameplay experience when compared to versions in other platforms. The way I see it, unprepared for HD gaming, an unimpressive game library, no playback for DVD/Blu Ray, washed down online gaming service, inferior hardware with a cpu that's worse than those in last gen consoles, and the mother of all cons NO GIMMICK people will fall for this time. Nice try Nintendo but I learned my lesson last generation and I'm not falling for that cheap trick again.

Hey, did you know that Halo did not sell well in Japan, therefore the Xbox is clearly doomed. That's the basic equivalent. The UK has been one of Nintendo's weakest regional markets since Sega trounced them there generations ago. Let's see some global sales numbers before drawing broad conclusions, eh?
