Nintendo Switch Has Over 6700 Third-Party Games

As revealed in a recently published report, the Nintendo Switch now boasts an impressive library of over 6700 third-party games.

In a recently published corporate management policy briefing, Nintendo has revealed that its latest handheld console now has an impressive library of over 6700 games published by third party publishers, making the Switch’s third party library easily the most comprehensive one in the company’s decades-long history. 1100 of these additions came out in the last six months alone.

Following the disaster that was Wii U, the biggest question aimed at the Switch was whether third-parties would actually develop games for the console, especially given that it was significantly weaker than the competition. The Switch received unprecedented third-party support with publishers like EA, 2K, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Capcom, Square Enix, and many more all flocking to deliver games for the system.

We have also seen some impressive ports of AAA games like Doom Eternal and The Witcher 3 on the Switch, alongside huge number of indies- an aspect where the Switch has dramatically improved over Nintendo’s past generations. On the flip side, ports for games like WWE 2K18 and FIFA have been the pinnacle of cash-grabs for the 92 million+ install-base platform.
