We’re just a little over a week away from Nintendo finally taking the wraps off of the Switch, but it looks like just about everything that there is to the system is being leaked beforehand. Speaking to YouTuber OBE1, well known Nintendo insider Laura Kate Dale shared some details about the upcoming system’s online functionality.
First, and in what will possibly make Nintendo fans all over the world rejoice, the Nintendo Switch will have no more Friend Codes; as a matter of fact, it is expected that the online infrastructure will actually be good this time around, given that Nintendo have off loaded its development to Japanese mobile gaming and networking firm DeNA. As a result, the online network this time around is allegedly going to have multiple standard features, including system level voice chat, and gameplay sharing (with a dedicated Record and Share button on one of the Joycons).
The Switch is due to be revealed on January 12 in its entirety, so we should have final confirmation of these details then. It is slated to launch worldwide in March of this year.
