The Nintendo Switch won’t be launching with Virtual Console and it doesn’t seem like we can access our accounts with eShop digital games on two consoles. Nintendo has shared even more information on how the eShop will work for the Switch.

An update will be available at launch for the Switch and according to Nintendo it “downloads in the background, is designed to install quickly and doesn’t disrupt gameplay.”

The eShop will also have a featured calls “news” that will provide “information about upcoming games and other updates from Nintendo.” It’s also possible to buy digital titles through Nintendo.com and have them remotely download at home if you’re Wi-Fi is connected.

As for how funds can be shared across different Nintendo devices, the company noted that, “People who already have funds in their accounts on other Nintendo devices can access them using a shared wallet that works on Nintendo Switch as well. Once they link their Nintendo Network ID and Nintendo Account and then their Nintendo Account to their Nintendo Switch system, this functionality becomes possible.”
