Nintendo has released its most recent earnings report and revealed that it has sold 32.27 million Switch consoles worldwide as of December 31st 2018. For the three month period that ended on December 31st, the company sold 9.41 million Switch units. Software sales were at 52.51 million units sold for the same period.
What’s interesting is that Nintendo has downgraded its previous forecast for Switch units shipped. Instead of 20 million consoles from April 2018 to March 2019, it’s now forecasting a total of 17 million shipped for that period. That number is almost in line with its previous fiscal year, when the Nintendo Switch sold 17.79 million units worldwide.
It’s not all gloomy for Nintendo though. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has performed exceedingly well with 12.08 million units sold worldwide. Currently ranked third in the top ten list of all-time best selling Switch games, the crossover fighting game has already surpassed the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (11.68 million units) and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! (10 million units).
