Nintendo has deployed a new system firmware update for the Switch and it’s quite hefty. System update 10.0.0 brings a bookmarking feature for News, allowing up to 300 news to be bookmarked. It also allows for transferring software data from the system to an SD card. This includes DLC, updates and digital titles.
But perhaps the biggest new feature is the ability to remap controller buttons. Players can customize analog stick and button combos for each par controller and save different custom configurations as “favourites” in the settings. Along with the Joy-Cons and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, buttons can also configured on the Switch Lite.
Each different controller option can have five different config options saved (with each Joy-Con getting five each). Overall, it’s a pretty good quality of life change if you want to, say, switch the B and A buttons around for all of your games. Check out the full patch notes here for more details.
