Nintendo Treehouse Live – WayForward Game Reveal Is Third Party Title

Seems the developer won't be working on a Nintendo IP after all.

Yesterday came the surprise announcement that we will see the unexpected return of the Nintendo Treehouse Live. The junction was usually part of E3 as a way to demo games that were revealed during their show. With no E3 and no E3 like Direct officially announced, many assumed we wouldn’t see it, but here we are. One thing that came as part of the announcement was that we would see the next game from developer WayForward, and we got a little more details about that.

The wording on the tweet said it would be a franchise new to the developer. Many thought it was possibly the Shantae developer could be tackling a Nintendo IP for the first time. But it seems that’s not the case, as they later clarified it will be third party related.

Depending on what you hoped for that’s more or less exciting, but there is it. Definitely makes you wonder what exactly Nintendo is planning to highlight here from a third party, especially since the other focus of the Treehouse will be a first party title in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long, as the segment will air later today.
