You do know that there are only 13million ps4's activated?
Where are all the others??
Let's see:
1. You get a free ps4 with the purchase of a Sony TV.
2. Sony lost some.
3. You probably don't have one either.
Now these 3 points explain the 23-25million ps4's out there.

The Wii U will push on for another 2-3 years.
Mario maker will be reponsable for this.
Nintendo are expecting at least 10million software sales of this game.
Bringing hardware way up over 30million.
Splatoon is only becoming more popular everyday and that's moving hardware, Mario kart 8 is still also moving hardware.
If we look at this mathematically, zelda Wii U will kill the pig with more hardware sales again.
What about star fox as well.... Wow!!
There is a storm coming Annie.. So get inside and play your Wii U!

I'm glad Nintendo, isn't just going to simply drop all support for the wii u and 3ds. This makes me quite happy. But what I'm really concerned about, is the fact that, Nintendo is holding back major titles like metroid, new zelda, etc. for the NX and I'm wondering once NX comes out , will those same games come out for the wii u.

Ah, so you are making the assumption that they have sold no units in the last 3 months. While the sales have been poor in general, the sales they have garnered have been largely through word-of-mouth, unlike say Microsoft who had massive marketing budgets and are still relatively struggling. PS4 success proves one thing, that brand is way more important to the masses than content. Even with the trump card of third party support, you'd have a hard time justifying the system based on content exclusive to the platform. Final Fantasy 7 is likely years off, and out of all the 'cavalry' games you mentioned, only one is actually exclusive. Don't get me wrong, PS4 WILL have the content, but the strength of its sales can hardly be attributed to it. Their brand is so strong, people buy into them based on potential. I'm guilty of this. I knew I would be missing out content if I didn't get a PS4.

Nintendo made a mistake announcing the NX the way they have. The community in general believes it to be the Wii U successor, even when Nintendo has repeatedly said it isn't. Iwata recently said as much. Nintendo has made bad decisions this generation, but it's always easy to recognise those in hindsight. And they're never allowed to forget it, unlike the competition. Sony let thousands of PSN credentials get compromised, waits a week before telling its users, sells twice as many systems. Microsoft said Kinect and DRM were integral to the new system, is commended for selling a Kinnectless version.

I own all three consoles by the way. Because I like choice of content. I can see each systems drawbacks also.

While I am happy with my Wii U (and no, I'm not a casual) I am not 'content', if that makes any sense. I see a brilliant concept that provided a huge opportunity that was squandered due to a lack of foresight from the company. Had Nintendo invested more in the processing power and made the game pad more tablet-like (gorilla glass and multitouch is a NO-BRAINER) I really think they would have blown the competition out of the water. The wii u would have been THE must have system with by far the best interface to play 3rd party games on. Can you imagine madden 2015 using the wii mote to pass/run and so forth while calling audibles by drawing routes on the game pad and making your own plays with the gamepad. I'm not even scratching the surface. The possibilities are endless. Not to mention there is NO BETTER CONTROLLER for FPS games than the wiimote. Combine that with the potential of the gamepad to be used for so many different things and you have by far the best COD version between the systems. And this is just off the top of my head without any effort.

I'm happy with my Wii U, but they can't possibly make me content. I love the games, and the few games that incorporate the gamepad in meaningful ways are really fantastic.

It could have been something really special but it was already to late by the time they released it.

Wikipedia article for "Wii U":

"As of 31 March 2015, according to numbers provided by Nintendo,
9.54 million Wii U console units and 56.68 million software units have
been shipped worldwide. These numbers (less than the PS4 sold in nine months) make the Wii U the slowest-selling Nintendo console of all time."

It took Wii U three years to reach the sales that the PS4 achieved in nine months. Even though it had a full two-year head start.

The PS4 is currently just about as tepid in heavy-hitting games as the Wii U, and still managed to achieve 22.3 million sold (as of March 31, 2015).

And when the cavalry arrives for PS4 (The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, Metal Gear Solid 5, etc.), you can expect that figure to double.

But the Wii U? It's not even at its fourth year, even Japan doesn't care about Wii U much, and Nintendo's already talking about a next console.

That's pathetic. Nintendo's lost their touch.

Ugh. You people are far too easily pleased. You shouldn't be happy with the Wii U already--they've given a half-assed effort with the Wii U.

And Nintendo, you want people to be pleased with the Wii U before moving on to your next half-assed project? Nintendo just hasn't learned a damn thing for the past decade.

They need to compete again, and stop all this Nintendo: Lite Version nonsense.

Get back to making solid AAA games and stop worrying about that casual/family audience you're never going to capture again like you did with Wii.

As long as they keep dropping the ball with Wii U, I have absolutely no reason to hope for better with "NX." They'll still be a step behind, with three excuses ready.
