Nioh 2 Crosses 1 Million Units Sold, First DLC Out on July 30th

New Sub-missions and Twilight Missions along with Photo Mode are now live.

Koei Tecmo’s Nioh 2 has been strong success with over one million units sold since launch. To celebrate, the development team is distributing a free Maniki Armor set with update 1.09. You can see what it looks like in the tweet below. But that’s not all – the update also brings Photo Mode.

Along with adjusting exposure, gradation and lighting, players can use filters to give their images that extra oomph. The update also adds nine new missions, mainly Sub-missions and Twilight Missions for players. If that weren’t enough, the release of the first paid DLC “The Tengu’s Disciple” will be on July 30th.

The story sees the player visiting Yashima and coming into contact with Sohayamaru, a strange whistle. Given the battle taking place and hints of Yokai, the player will use the Sohayamaru and intervene in the conflict. Further details will be provided in the coming months but expect new Guardian Spirits, skills, armor and a “new weapon that alters the performance of skills outside of set stances.” One can also expect more end-game difficulty levels and content.
