As Sony is going to uses OpenGL and most likely has a patch coming for Vulcan to support the increased need for speed with VR.

Developers also are only getting DX12.1 to work well and failing on DX12.2. DX12.2 is where most of the performance gains on the chart are. How i see it it will most likely be decided in back rooms with ppl in black suits to see how they can make the most money. As the bottom line is all share holders care about the option that promises more sells will win. Vulcan runs on anything but the Xbox ONE while DX12 only runs on windows 10 on PCs and on Xbox ONE. Drivers will matter less if DX12.2 is used so taking power away from nVidia and AMD and giving it to ppl who grew up with machines that could brute force through most bad programming.

In my understanding of it the thing to make games work on both Windows 10 and the xbox one is not popular among gamers. It is tided to the windows store that most ppl do not look at. Game releases I only found out about a game launch 4 months after it launched b/c its marketing never leaves the windows store which is good but they didn't really market it to anyone not on a gaming site. Didn't get onto any of the games wanted for 2015 / 2016 lists, didn't get any air time in any gaming channels on mainstream YouTube nor the front page of Twitch. Microsoft's point of easier to port between 2 platforms falls apart when you don't advertise to ppl that the game came out.

right now is also a bad time to release anything new. In the US one of the biggest if not the biggest electronic consumers the media is all blocked by politics and other stuff to distract from them doing something they do not want to ell us about and Microsoft nor anyone else in gaming not on mobile seems to ever come up. On Youtube.com i sometimes see the windows store referred to but almost always in a bad light.

So in my mind DX12 is off to a bad start and Vulcan can come ahead soon if they want and steam wants to.

Most PC fanboys like @The_PC_Truth_Insider:disqus don't even own a mid-end PC and talk about 4K@240FPS. The truth is most of them own a PC which is not even close to PS4 and sometimes also struggles to play games on lowest 720P@30FPS and their parents won't update their components or buy them a new console or they can't afford it and then they talk about 4K and 240FPS and #PCMR and call console owners peasants.

Superior...or ..supported...now that's the question needed to be asked?

Even Valves steam machines will be using Vulkan and not DX12 as DX12 is windows 10 based only, while Vulkan on the other hand = Cross-Platform: Windows 7/8/10 Linux, Andriod, etc.

Why have DX12 that's only for Windows 10 based OS when Vulkan is the more supported API world-wide for all devices?
