No More Heroes 3 Delayed to 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in "unforeseen delays", but the team is back on track.

Grasshopper Manufacture has announced that No More Heroes 3, originally slated to release this year, has been delayed. It’s now targeting a 2021 release. The delay is due to development being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as per director Goichi Suda on Twitter

Suda noted that the pandemic has been “a real body blow to our schedule, causing unforeseen delays in development.” The development team is back on its feet now and is looking to prioritize quality and polish, resulting in the delay. Suda apologized for the same and stated that the team will “continue to put every effort into the title’s development” as it aims for a release next year.

There is another update though. The Boys illustrator Darick Robertson is confirmed to be providing original illustrations for the project. The first can be seen below, titled “Demzamtiger & His Master.” Suda promised more announcements and news for the title in the coming months so stay tuned.

No More Heroes 3 is currently in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. It sees Travis Touchdown returning to Santa Destroy to combat a new wave of intergalactic assassins.
