Yeah, no. Only idiots have that mindset. Consoles allow direct hardware access and perfect optimization potential, a PC versus a console with the same hardware would see the console outperform the PC by a factor of eight in most real-world scenarios. Combine that with the fact that the PS4 will most likely launch at $400 while a PC with comparable specs (minus direct or even low-level hardware access, and perfect optimization down to the MHz, and with DDR3 instead of GDDR5 RAM) would cost around $700, and there still isn&#039;t any contest at all. The PS4 should offer the best price-to-performance ratio next generation, no doubt.

PC elitists really are pretty terrible. I had some respect for Nvidia in the past, but when they made those public statements attacking the PS4 just because their products can&#039;t come close to AMD&#039;s in terms of price-to-performance, or even performance to heat output or energy use (very important in consoles), they lost all of that respect. They essentially attacked the PS4 just because they couldn&#039;t snag the contract for its GPU, all because AMD made a much better deal. Nvidia can rot, for all I care.]]></description>
