This game is not cutting edge so I expect both games to look identical at 1080p 60fps. Why is it so many websites misunderstand how frame rates work. The articles regrets the frame rate is not locked at 60fps. We don't want frames locked at 60fps, we want vertical sync locked.

You can only have 2 options. Lock the frame rate or lock the V-sync.

If you unlock vertical sync to lock the frame rate to always output 60fps and something is delayed so the next frame is not ready, screen tear is employed by including half drawn frames. That is very bad.

If you lock V-sync at 60fps which is what we have here, the frame rate cannot go above 60fps, but if something is delayed and the next frame is not ready, then the frame is delayed so only full frames are drawn with no screen tear. That means the frame rate can go down to 50fps but there is zero screen tear. That is very good.

You need powerful hardware to lock V-sync otherwise you get really bad stutter as the frame rate struggles. PS3 was notorious for screen tear on 3rd party games because the GPU on its own wasn't powerful enough unless u maxed out the CELL to do some of the graphics like Uncharted. PS4 cures all that and we have zero screen tear with V-sync turned on. The frame rate is not locked and that is correct. We do not want to go back to screen tear.
