This is a giant lie. Bethesda clearly stated last year that the game wasn’t being worked on and that they had two new major IP’s to release before they even started on ES6. That means even if Starfield launches this year, you’re looking at another 3-4 years for the second new IP followed by another 3-4 years to make ES6. We won’t be playing ES6 until the early to mid 2020’s and that’s exactly what Bethesda has said about the matter.

In reply to CinemaConFan. That's 100% correct. Even if Starfield were to launch this year and you look at Bethesda's dev time per game, you would be looking at 2022 for their second new IP and 2026 for Elder Scrolls 6.

Pete Hines stated late last year that work hadn't begun and they had 2 major new IP's to launch before they even started working on it. If their rumored Starfield sci-fi rpg comes out this year, then you are talking 3-4 more years for new IP number 2 and another 3-4 years to develop ES6. We won't be playing a new Elder Scrolls until well into the early to mid 2020's.

Unless something dramatic has changed behind the scenes at Bethesda Game Studios, according to Pete Hines, there are two large scale projects coming from them BEFORE the next Elder Scrolls game. One of those two projects could be coming in 2018, but certainly not Elder Scrolls as “you’re not getting an Elder Scrolls 6 for many years.” Pachter should do a better job of keeping up with gaming news.
