Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Has Been Rated by the ESRB

The beloved RPG's highly anticipated remake is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch in 2024, but doesn't have a firm release date.

It’s looking increasingly likely that we’re in the final months of the Nintendo Switch’s active lifecycle now, but even so, owners of the hybrid platform do still have a handful of notable upcoming releases to look forward to. And though the likes of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Princess Peach: Showtime! have surely turned few heads, perhaps the one that’s most highly anticipated is the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Confirmed to be coming to the Switch sometime in 2024 back in September, the beloved RPG’s new version doesn’t have a firm release date, but a recent development might suggest that that might not be too far away.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door’s upcoming remake has been rated by the ESRB. Given the fact that classification ratings for games tend to come pretty late on in their development cycles, this could indicate that a launch isn’t too far away.

Of course, if that is the case, it should be interesting to see when and where Nintendo chooses to announce the game’s release date. Stay tuned for any and all updates in the coming days and weeks.
