After rumors promised some news about Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo announced during MAR10 Day 2024 that it’s launching on May 23rd for Nintendo Switch. There were no further details, but it’s a given that we’ll see more gameplay and details leading up to the launch.
Launching in 2004 for the GameCube, The Thousand-Year Door is the second title in the Paper Mario series and received extensive critical acclaim. It once again focuses on Mario saving Princess Peach after her kidnapping by the mysterious X-Nauts. On top of its animated paper-like aesthetic, it features turn-based combat focused on timing button presses return from the first game. An audience also watches and provides items if they like your performance.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is seemingly running in 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch, compared to the original’s 60 FPS. Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed the same, and more details are needed, so stay tuned in the coming months.
