Fans of Mario RPGs have been treated to an unexpected degree this past year, and Nintendo is continuing to reap the benefits as well. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door saw the release of an acclaimed remake for the Switch in May, and the RPG is maintaining decent momentum where sales are concerned.
As part of its latest quarterly earnings report, Nintendo has revealed that as of September 30, the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake has sold 1.94 million units worldwide. As of the end of the previous quarter, the RPG had sold 1.76 million units, which means it sold close to an additional 200,000 units of the fiscal year’s second quarter.
Nintendo has also announced updated sales figures for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, and the Switch’s current ten best-selling first-party titles, in addition to updated numbers for the Switch itself, which stands at 146.04 million units sold worldwide.
