Payday 3 Announced, Coming “In the Future”

Heisting lives on.

Following the announcement of Overkill Software regaining the franchise rights to Payday and removing microtransactions going forward, Starbreeze revealed that Payday 3 was in development.

This was part of an agreement with publisher 505 Games that would help it receive 33 percent of revenue from the game (capped at $40 million). Payday 3 is expected “in the future” but no further details have been provided

In the meantime, Payday 2 fans don’t have to worry. Along with the black market being free and open to all, Payday 2 will receive new content and support for the next 18 months. Update 100 coming on Thursday will also usher in changes to the skill tree.

If that weren’t enough, Overkill is teasing some Payday 2-related development for E3 2016. So it’s likely we find out the next major piece of content when E3 gets rolling on June 14th. What are your thoughts on a sequel though? Let us know in the comments below.
