While Atlus confirmed last year that a Persona Q2 would be coming, they have been completely silent on it since. Last week, they promised more information on the game over the weekend, and they properly obliged. Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth (undoubtedly a name that will change for the game’s inevitable localization) was announced over the weekend.
Persona Q2 is a game similar in style to the original Persona Q– it’s a chibi style dungeon crawler modelled off the Etrian Odyssey series, and much like Q brought together the casts of Persona 3 and 4, Q2 brings together the casts of 3, 4, and 5, including a lot of characters you may not have expected, such as Goro Akechi from Persona 5, and the female protagonist from Persona 3 Portable, who has otherwise never appeared in any other Persona media to date.
It’s basically fan service in its extreme- the trailers show us all the casts interacting with one another, as well as the game having a superlative sense of style, much like its numbered brethren do. You can check them out for yourself below- the game looks like a celebration of modern Persona, and the most exciting Persona spin off we have received in a very long time.
Persona Q2 is going to launch on the Nintendo 3DS on November 29 in Japan; for now, a western localization has not been announced.
