Peter Molyneux says the Wii U is “good but it’s not great”

You don't say.

Peter Molyneux is an outspoken guy and just like the Pong creator who was confused with the system Nintendo had created, he also feels the same way and has given a weak compliment to the system.

He said that he liked the system, it’s good, but it’s not great, and he isn’t really fond of its unique features in an interview with GamesIndustry.

“I think the Wii U is good, but I don’t feel it’s great. I find holding the device in my hand – looking up at the screen and looking down at the device – slightly confusing as a consumer,” he said.

He also revealed that the platform holders need to match the solid technology created by companies like Amazon and others. And by Amazon I mean he referenced to the Kindle Fire and said the Wii U is not really impressive when compared to devices like these.

“And we really need these new pieces of hardware to be great in today’s world, because the competition is not just consoles anymore,” he said.

“The competition is everything, all the technology. When you’re holding a Kindle Fire or an iPad in your hand, it’s just amazing technology. It really is. It’s expensive, but it’s amazing technology. And people like Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft need to match that. They need to match that in my mind, and exceed it. And I’m not sure the Wii U really did that.”

It doesn’t look like he will be developing a game for the Nintendo’s system. It has been revealed recently that the system’s CPU runs at a very low clock speed compared to the ones in PS3 and Xbox 360’s Cell and Xenon respectively.
