Moron calling in here. Sometimes the hate for a brand actually has to do with the decisions made by the company behind said brand. The same goes for brand loyalty as well. I'd argue it's more healthy than to just accept anything from companies without at least complaining or rewarding them with praise, respectively.

I don't think it's any less fun or unhealthy to have arguments or heated discussions and gloat over which console is better or which is more powerful than it is to argue or gloat over your favorite sports team, comic book artist, author, or news station. As long as you're not stupid enough to actually dislike people over it, I think it's harmless fun, and in cases where there's enough distaste or encouragement out there in the comment sections that said companies' catch wind, then sometimes it's even useful.

Fanboyism is a sickness suffered by a very very vocal minority. Its only cure is maturity. I was a fanboy once. Genesis vs SNES. I was team Sega all the way. As I grew as a person and as a games I started kicking myself for my own ignorance. I missed out on so many amazing snes games and for what? Loyalty to plastic AMD metal? Loyalty to some faceless company?

Its one thing to hate on a horrible system like the jaguar or ngage or cdi. The Xbox, PlayStation nor Wii are bad. They are not horrible. Anyone who slams down on these systems is blind.

Now true each has flaws and each has strengths but they ALL have and will continue to have excellent games. That's what matters. That's all that matters.

There is nothing wrong with preferring 1 console over another but to have such absolute hatred because it's not your brand..well that's simply moronic.
