Your article is written in a way that looks like you’re just damage controlling Phil Spencer’s lies. Your argument doesn’t make sense. You said, “You don’t want execs allways being reactive with their product to what their competitiors are doing”

But that is exactly what Microsoft’s existance is about. Phil Spencer is just trying to damage control, sidestep, and sugar coat sh*t by saying, “Oh, we don’t think about sales, not everything we do is for sales, not everything is a reaction to PS4 sales” when the truth is that he is thinking about PS4 sales. Microsoft’s exists for the sole purpose of getting sales. Everything Microsoft does is a reaction to sales and/or competitors. It doesn’t matter whether it is proactive or reactive.

– Microsoft reverses DRM <- Direct reaction to the PS4's sales (and Gamingbolt praised Microsoft for it)

– Microsoft opens a feedback website a year later <- Direct reaction to the PS4's sales and a direct copy of Sony's strategy of listening to consumers a year prior and how Sony had a similar way to allow fans to give feedback(and Gamingbolt praised Microsoft for it) (and Phil Spencer is really just acting like a Shuhei Yoshida wannabe)

– Microsoft creates "Games for your Gold" <- Direct reaction to PlayStation (and Gamingbolt praised Microsoft for it)

– Microsoft unbundles Kinect <- Direct reaction to the PS4's sales (and Gamingbolt praised Microsoft for it)

– Phil Spencer announces Rise of The Tomb Raider exclusivity <- Direct result of Microsoft wanting to increase Xbox One sales (and Gamingbolt praised Microsoft for it)

You can't praise Microsoft for everything they do and then turn around and say, "You don't want execs allways being reactive with their product to what their competitiors are doing" when everything Microsoft does is a reaction to competitors. It doesn't matter whether Microsoft is trying to come up with new ideas or just stealling ideas (which is really all they do), everything Microsoft does is for sales.

So basically what Phil Spencer is saying is, "We don't want money or sales"?
