Pikmin 3 confused some of us with its exclusion of Captain Olimar, instead opting to let us control four different Pikmin leaders during gameplay. However, a new batch of screenshots have showcased a new group of astronauts, including what appears to be a father-son duo and a woman on the Pad device within the game.
We also get a glimpse at a new rock-like Pikmin and a new ice-based level. It’s interesting an odd – maybe this is a cooperative mode that is separate from the main campaign? Remains to be seen but so far, the game is looking mighty interesting.
Pikmin 3 is due to release this quarter or the next for the Nintendo Wii U in North America and has none other than Shigeru Miyamoto as producer. Hopefully, the exclusive will help the Wii U’s sagging fortunes, as it’s been reported that the device sold a measly 80,000 units in February in the US.
