Well even if they are starting a new gen, Phil already mentioned they're thinking hard about what the next Xbox is....that's enough for me to expect another Xbox within 5 yrs. So I just don't see it bro. However u could be right, so we'll just have to wait about 3 years to test ur theory lol. Anyway good chat mane

Well all I can say is this. Don't be shocked IF Scorpio does become the next gen MS console and Xbone gets slowly phased out, ( although Xbone games will be supported on Scorpio ) as we know Scorpio is compatible with Xbone games, and by insider news about first party development situation looking bleak from MS for the xbone I would say even more could point to my theory.

Well that's one way to look at it. But the biggest difference is exclusives, and even the UI, controllers, and functionality's gonna be the same as X1 on Scorpio. If this was a new gen thing, there would be obvious and striking differences to set the two apart, and judging from what's known per Microsoft, they'll be almost exactly the same. That's the difference between the history u mention, and what's goin on now. There just isn't anything screaming "Next Gen" about Scorpio to consumers in light of the treatment new systems usually gets.

U know what, good point. I remember Crytek doing a comparison with Marius havin 85k polys vs 150k, and the difference wasn't that big honestly. I guess it's just a combo of graphics algorythms that makes a game look good. But having Phil say "Scorpio will run 4K with same graphics as Xbox" says there's won't be developement involved where it'd be treated like next generation. More like higher res and settings, but no custom algorythms. Who knows with 3rd parties tho. Prolly not.

Thing is MS have done something like I talked about above in the past ( XBOX and 360 when PS2 was outselling the XBOX ) and when looking at why 360 got released 4 years after the XBOX Scorpio could be history repeating itself ( Xbone and Scorpio as PS4 is outselling Xbone )

But yet again not all games have boosted polygons on new gen games when compared to other current games from older console games as you know yourself.

Beyond Two Souls has models from 80.000 polygons as did Uncharted 2 which also used 80,000 Polygons in their characters. So really an extra 5000, is not impressive on a new gen console game

See what I mean. http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/5942.html

Well they said it won't have exclusives, so if these games are on Xbox One as well, that makes it less appealing to get a Scorpio, because people can still play those same games...that's big. I mean I can't force u to adopt my view, I respect yours. I just see this as a mid gen refresh (comparable to the Pro), and that the next Xbox has already been hinted at. I'm still excited for this yr despite the bad news, there's much for me to drool over for Xbox including Scorpio, State of Decay and Crackdown

But that still doesn't mean it's not MS's next gen console.. It could just show that MS has no games to show off the power of their next gen console. Time will tell, BUT I really believe MS are leaving the Xbone behind and starting a new gen like they did with XBOX and the 360 while PS2 was outselling the XBOX

Check this out. It's a small piece about polygons (that also helps in creating joints in the characters) and blend shapes, or a method that helps characters and objects look more believable. To me this is the stuff that greatly propels next gen graphics over last gen. Resolution and higher settings is good but not this type of good in terms of realism imo
