Microsoft will most likely push an Xbox with Windows 8 installed. I’m a game developer and this kind of stuff simplifies the whole process big time. Xbox 360 led the way in term of simplicity to develop and publish games, now they’ll do even better. If Sony once again develops their own OS for the next console, they are screwed. More and more Android-based consoles will come and most likely an Apple device too.

I’m a big fan of Sony first party games and I will end up buying both consoles. However, I think they should at least develop a console that is nearly as powerful as Microsoft next box. If they don’t do that, they will lose a lot of market shares.

Hardware isn’t everything, a good entry pricepoint and Sony having the best set of developers in the industry are also important. I don’t see Microsoft winning next generation, but I do see Nintendo getting t-bagged to hell. I was a huge Nintendo fanboy since my first game(Link to the Past) until the 3DS and Wii U, I tolerated the Wii’s suckage by supplementing my gaming with PC gaming but the 3DS and Wii U are the last straw. It’s one thing to not play the hardware arms race, it’s another to push out something that wouldn’t have even been impressive five years ago. Modern Nintendo’s just a bastardization of what came before, they’re not the company I lurved when I was younger.

Sony all the way for me, I can’t stand Microsoft’s greediness and Nintendo’s incompetence.

One thing even if ps3 was exact same specs af 360 ps3 games will still look better. Sony devs push hardware to the limit!!

I don’t know… Sony launching a console that is half as powerful as the next Xbox? Do you think that people will buy Uncharted if there are other third person shooters that look way better on Xbox? I know it’s not all about graphics, but seriously… I don’t think Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream and Polyphony Digital will tolerate being behind competition on this.
