We recently saw a bunch of gameplay footage and new details and impressions for the upcoming Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl emerging online thanks to round of hands-off previews, and Serebii has compiled new information emerging from these across various outlets. Some details in particular stand out.
For starters, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will once again have the Exp. Share item, which will apply to every Pokemon in your party and reward experience to all of them whether or not they participate in a battle. Like Pokemon Sword and Shield, this cannot be turned off. Understandably, a sizeable contingent of the Pokemon fanbase is far from happy about this. A disappointing lack of challenge has been one of Pokemon’s biggest issues in recent years, and Exp. Share contributes to that significantly, so its understandable that many are torn about its inclusion in the upcoming duo of remakes.
Beyond that, other details have also come to light, such as various QoL improvements being made to the game- like the game clearly showing type effectiveness during battles, and players being able to switch party Pokemon with Pokemon in the PC at any time and any place. Meanwhile, TMs are also going to be single use once again in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, though apparently there will be plenty of opportunities in the game to get more of them.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are out for the Switch on November 19.
