Nintendo’s Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been huge successes since launch, which shouldn’t surprise anyone given the brand’s popularity. Initially touted to have sold almost 1.4 million copies within the first three days of launch in Japan, the titles have sold six million units worldwide within their debut week on Nintendo Switch. This is according to GameBiz (translated by DeepL) which cites “Nintendo research.”
As remakes of the 2006 Nintendo DS titles, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl see players venturing through the Sinnoh region. There are 493 Pokemon to collect with some exclusive to each version but the end goal remains the same – to defeat the Elite Four and become Pokemon League Champion. Several new features in the remake includes Ramanas Park replacing Pal Park, up to six Pokemon to walk with in Amity Square, Fairy Type Pokemon and more.
There’s also trainer customization for changing one’s outfit and appearance, Exp. Share that gives experience to all Pokemon equally and so on. You can check out our review here for more details.
