Nintendo’s Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! have been a strong success for the company in Japan. After releasing on November 16th, the Switch titles told a combined 664,198 units in just three days, according to Famitsu. That includes Poke Ball Plus sets, and it’s thus become the second best-selling title for the Switch (at least in its first three days).
So far, the sales response to Pokemon Let’s Go has been pretty good. US sales insider Benji recently tweeted that the games were having “noteworthy impact” on driving new Switch hardware sales. The NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella further noted that Pokemon Let’s Go was the “most important launch of the year”, with the initial response being positive.
It still remains to be seen how sales will be heading into the Christmas and New Year season. For now though, Nintendo has another bonafide hit on its hands, and will continue the momentum when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases on December 7th.
