Pokemon Let’s Go Will Not Be Compatible With The Pro Controller

Another Nintendo Switch feature that this game will not support.

The Switch Pro controller is a marvellous controller, melding the ergonomics of the Xbox controllers with the reliability and long battery life of Nintendo ones. It’s arguably the best controller this generation. That said, there have been an increasing amount of games that have not been supporting it of late, mostly because of how reliant they are on the Switch’s portable mode.

The World Ends With You and Super Mario Party are both games that don’t work with the Switch Pro controller, for example. Now, here’s another one to add to the list—the upcoming Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! will not be supporting the Pro controller, it seems. The game’s eShop page on the Nintendo Switch console does not list the Pro controller among the controllers supported.

Now, it is possible that this is an omission that gets rectified, but given that we are officially only two weeks away from the titles’ launch, I doubt that is the case here. I think the Pro controller is indeed not supported for this game, which is a shame. Pokemon Let’s Go seems to not be supporting a lot of Nintendo Switch functionality, including cloud saves, for example.

Pokemon Let’s Go launches for Nintendo Switch on November 16.
