Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Bug is Causing Players to Lose Their Save Files

Pre-purchasing the newest DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might end up with you losing your save file.

Players in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have reportedly begun losing their progress in the game after a recent update. While the exact cause of this bug is currently unknown, according to Kotaku, players have taken to Reddit to reveal that connecting the games to the Pokemon Go ap or downloading the reccent DLC has caused them to lose their save files.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, being RPGs, means that players are quite likely losing hundreds of hours of progress, including finding rare things like shiny Pokemon. Some players have even reported that just purchasing the latest DLC has caused them to lose progress.

The DLC, dubbed The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, was announced earlier this year. As part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players will get access to two DLC: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. The Teal Mask will include several additional Pokemon, including Okidogi, Munkidori, and Feandipiti.

While available for purchase right now, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is set to get its first DLC release in Fall with The Teal Mask. The Indigo Disk is slated for release in Winter.
