Like Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are getting some DLC in an Expansion Pass-like package. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero consists of The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, with new Legendary Pokemon, Ogerpon and Terapagos. In press release, the developer confirmed three additional Pokemon in The Teal Mask – Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti.
Revered as “heroes” that protected Kitakami, their likenesses appear in stone statues from the reveal trailer. Overall, players can expect over 230 “familiar” Pokemon living in the new areas which haven’t appeared in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
As for Kitakami, it’s a region with a mountain and “tranquil natural expanses” with rice paddies and apple orchards. The village is holding a festival with vendors and stalls, and it’s here that players will encounter new characters and learn more about the various folktales. Not much is known about The Indigo Disk’s location, but Blueberry Academy is a sister school to Naranja/Uva Academy.
Save data can be transferred from the base game when starting the DLC. However, to begin The Teal Mask’s story, you must start the treasure hunt in Scarlet or Violet, which occurs about three hours in. The Indigo Disk requires reaching the end of the base game and finishing The Teal Mask’s story.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero kicks off in Fall when The Teal Mask launches. The Indigo Disk arrives in Winter, so stay tuned for more details.
