Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Will Require Roughly 10 GB of Storage Space

The upcoming RPG duo's Nintendo eShop pages have been updated and now mention a 10 GB storage requirement.

Every time we see more of Pokemon Scarlet and Violetit becomes clearer that the upcoming RPG duo is attempting to be considerably bigger and more ambitious than other recent games in the series- but what does that mean for the games’ file sizes? Well, on that front, it seems like it’ll be business as usual for Pokemon.

The Switch eShop pages for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet recently got updated, and they now mention a 10 GB storage space requirement for both games. That’s about what you’d expect from a new mainline generation of Pokemon games on the Switch. Pokemon Sword and Shield, for instance, have a file size of 12.4 GB. Pokemon Legends: Arceus, meanwhile, stands at 6.1 GB, while Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have a 6.9 GB requirement.

Of course, there’s also a good chance that these sizes aren’t final and end up seeing some changes by launch- though we at least know the general range the storage requirement for these games will fall in.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are due out for the Nintendo Switch on November 18.
