Yup, or aggregate other Sony specific services into the mix. They have a wealth of entertainment. PS Now is a step in the right direction in the end. We’ve been wanted something like this.

Don’t get me wrong, the lack of physical media is good reason for it to be cheaper than GameFly, but the similarities between the two services shows that PSNow isn’t that far off, pricewise. In my opinion, Gamefly is significantly overpriced due to the lack of enough copies to support their subscribers’ needs. If 17 is fair for Gamefly, the possibility of such a larger library, delivered instantly would be a good reason to charge as much. That being said, with it’s current offering’s 20 dollars is too much. I would like to see a service like this that would cover PS, Xbox, and Nintendo

I agree with everything you say except the part about the the price. Gamefly $17 price tag is for good reason. You’re dealing with physical things. Now try to think about every kind of maintenance that needs to be done to carry on that business, from packing the product, sending the product, replacing damaged product, housing the product etc. And that’s only maintenance, there are other things to consider when your dealing with physical products. So gamefly makes plenty sense. What’s sonys reason to charge $20 pm or $180 per year? To compare, MS was testing a new online service pack for 145.00 per year over the summer. You get XBL, Xbox music, and I think Microsoft office suite.

Sony has the right idea, but I think they’re taking advantage of pple who are impulsive with that price.

I think as a stand alone service with (nearly) full libraries for all consoles, streaming to non PS devices, 20 dollars a month is fair. 100 ps3 games to the ps4, not worth it yet. I think it’s a good idea, and potentially a great service.
I think that 20 dollars is fair, especially given that GameFly is 17, and this should be much better since you might actually get the games you actually want to play. Once it has come to the point where all 4 Playstations have a significant amount of titles to offer on this service (and I do want the PS4 titles on here as well), then it may be worth it.

The sweet spot for a service like this is between $4.00 – $6.00 p/m with the option to download the game for better play. Do I think a service like this, where we don’t need a PS console, will give non PS4 owners access to ps4 titles? Possible, but very highly unlikely. Unless Sony just want to jump on ahead with their vision of the future. They did entertain the idea recently.

Unless they wisely aggregate their services in a nice affordable package, I’ll say they are targeting a whole different audience. I simply don’t see the value.
